Telangana govt invites applications for overseas scholarships for SC students

Telangana government has invited applications for overseas scholarships for students belonging to SC categories. The government is offering a scholarship of up to 20 lakhs for selected countries. It will also include a one-way economic ticket and visa charges. Only one child from a family will be eligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship is for candidates whose family income is not more than five lakhs per annum from all sources. The official website to apply for the scholarship is telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in and the application deadline is March 31, 2024.

"Registration of application is not entitled to benefit/ grant of Scholarship under the scheme. The selection of the candidate is based on the fulfilment of the prescribed guidelines, and in case of over and above registrations against the intake, the selection will be done based on merit only, as per the existing guidelines,” said the statement by the official website.

The eligibility criteria to apply is candidates must possess a 60% graduation score and an eligible score in the GRE/GMAT and English Proficiency Test as per GO. The scholarship is only available to students who have been accepted into one of the following countries: the United States, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, or New Zealand.
