University of Cambridge Scholarships for International Students

The University of Cambridge consists of 31 colleges, with a very diverse student body of 22,000 individuals worldwide and 9000 international students from over 140 countries. Renowned for its commitment to quality research, the university has a heavy emphasis on merit-based scholarships, offering 90 opportunities compared to 18 need-based scholarships. The University of Cambridge Admission Deadlines

The University of Cambridge UG application deadline arent specific, however according to the official website the two main funding deadlines for general courses in 2024 have been closed for PG. Tentatively, applications for PG programs starting in Dec 2025 and Jan 2025 will be considered. Applicants should stay updated on the official website to schedule for the upcoming period.  

University of Cambridge Scholarships Application Process

Below is the University of Cambridge scholarship application process:

To be eligible for scholarships at the University7 of Cambridge, applicants must complete the funding section during the application process. Once submitted with this section filled, candidates are considered for scholarships. However, for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship- MBA applicants must go through the below process:

1. Applicants must go through this portal http://www.gatescambridge.org/
2. Applicants must have 3000 characters (approximately 500 words) explaining why you are applying for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and how you meet the four main criteria.
3. The scholarship is also awarded on the following criteria:

•  intellectual ability, justification for the choice of course, a commitment to improving the lives of others and leadership capacity.

4. Referees are also asked how they rate the applicant for the scholarship: exceptional, strong, not strong, weak. They may paste/type up to 4,000 characters into the on-line reference or upload a separate letter.
