MSc Management - Batch of 2024

Vibrant campus life, world class faculties and academically enriching experience.
Tips: Students should know how to cook because the takeaway or delivery options are costly. The ready-made food available in stores is also limited option-wise. There are fewer options for vegetarian people. The University, faculty and teaching were up to the mark as I expected. The faculty members were approachable and were always there to help. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Part time work): Part-time jobs are easy to find. We Indians don't hesitate to put in the work and this is known by the UK employers which is one of the main reasons why Indians can get part-time jobs without difficulty. We just have to look diligently. Plus the pay is also good for the part-time jobs.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Due to changes made in the visa rules for international candidates, it is next to impossible for international students to secure full-time jobs post-graduation. Most of the companies that offer sponsorship hesitate to pay the salary according to the new visa rules.

MSc Business Analytics and Decision Sciences - Batch of 2024

Great student life both on and off-campus.
Tips: You should be prepared for studying every day and how to make assignments. Also, be very specific about the course you choose because you cannot change it later. You can find cheap accommodation nearby. Also, prepare your CV in advance to get a part time early.

Satisfied but not worth it
Tips: Limited Indian food joint options, the ones available are pricy. Public transport is unreliable and the university is great, but not value for money according to me. If you are a party person, then Leeds is a good student city with lots of pubs and clubs around.
Likes (Internships): Good opportunities and projects opportunities available which you can sign up for but it is upon you if you make use of that opportunity and take relevant action on time. Nobody is going to spoon-feed you here to get things done. Need to be independent and manage your time, finances and everything else well.
Dislikes (Value for money): Paying 27500 pounds fee which is now in fact 30000+ pounds for the same course is really not worth it. You should find other universities that offer scholarships. QS ranking just seems like a facade to me. Choose any Russell Group university and you should be alright.

Experience would help in post-study job opportunities.
Tips: Should possess prior work experience before starting this course for better job prospects. I didn't know how to cook and clean before coming here so found it hard initially. There are only 2 scholarships fully funded for this programme. The university is amazing.
Likes (Safety): Very safe to walk around the city at all times of the day. Have not had any particular bad experiences regarding safety but have heard of a few bad areas in Leeds to avoid after dark such as Hyde Park as students have gotten robbed at knifepoint there. Crime like robbery and stabbing is virtually non-existent here but bicycle thieves are very common.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time is very difficult to avail in Leeds, almost impossible. Same situation across the UK students since September 2023 have not gotten part-time jobs. Part-time is very manageable with studies as it's only 20 hours per week and plenty of time is given for assignments and exam prep by university.

MSc Management - Batch of 2023

Just okay, not bad and not so great as well.
Tips: Definitely, I have grown a lot as a person, I feel more responsible and action-oriented person now. In my experience, I don't seem to have any cultural shift. I did not get any scholarships. I am satisfied with my university experience in terms of education and learning and all the opportunities available at the university.
Likes (Indian Food): A lot of restaurants and grocery supplies are easily available in the nearest market. A large variety of cuisine options are available in the city, any restaurants outside the city centre are cost savers than the ones in the city center. I mostly preferred cooking by myself because I did not liked to spend much on food.
Dislikes (Internships): My course curriculum did not have a mandatory industry option. No sort of guidance or anything is provided by the university about internships in my experience. You are however allowed to apply and even work as an intern but be careful about the curriculum weightage because there might be problems regarding managing work and studies.

The college life is good for learning but the career prospects after study is less.
Tips: Here the people expect to say sorry and thank you after everything. You are expected to be polite so adjust accordingly. There is no particular culture. Weekends are just for partying. No scholarship for the M.Sc. management programme is given. The courses are well structured for the studies.
