Both are quite same but the main difference is
That 3d animation is all about creating 3d models, dynamic images and rendering. Multimedia contains different things for instance video, image, audio editing etc. And animation is a type of media. On the other hand digital filmmaking is more about shooting and editing a project. If you are quite good at sketching, anatomy or may be architecture you should definitely go with 3d animation and multimedia.

Yes, anybody from anywhere and at any time can do animation course, for creativity has no boundaries and no age limit. Humanities students can go for animation design course. All you need to learn then is how to use software and your basic understanding of real life to create realistic animation.

Dear Omkar, I hope things are going well. Without a doubt, you can learn. There are many resources available right now. Both offline and internet resources are used. There are also many paid online animation courses available, but my recommendation is to go to college so that the work will be organised and follow a certain flow. I hope this is helpful. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions if you have any.
