Although theatre has been one of the oldest forms of performance arts practised throughout India, it has managed to sink its claws deeper into some cities than the rest. Perhaps factors such as educational and cultural establishments, better funding resources and a stronger sense of community among patrons too could play a key role in making theatre in certain cities thrive much better than the rest. The top five cities that are buzzing with an active theatre scene are mentioned below.

There are no specific acting institutes for in Allahabad but there are some great theater groups that provide training to aspiring actors and are doing a good job in the field. Some of them are:
1. Kala Bhoomi
2. Allahabad Theatre
3. Oppulent School of Acting

Educational qualification does not play any role in pursuing a career in acting. You just need to have the right skill-set to be an actor. Some tips for becoming a successful actor:
1. Get the right training: Although acting is a natural skill but it is important to brush up your skills in terms of diction, clarity of voice, voice modulations, emotions etc. An acting course from an acting school like Anupam Kher's Acting Academy, IIFT, AAFT, etc. would help you to polish your skills. To become an actor one needs to possess the following characteristics:
1. Competence to take fictional roles
2. Truthfulness in learning the role play
3. Flawless diction and multiple language skills
4. Experience and the best possible in theatre
5. Formal training in acting if possible
6. Knowledge of film making and direction nuances
