Hello Dr. Kalpana Bhat, I can understand your angst and anxiety. Frankly speaking, no one can predict what is going to happen in the future. We all can have educated guesses. My guess is that, in India, the scope for jobs in this sector is going to open up in a great way. ISRO has already started allowing private companies to participate in all activities. It is quite interesting query. You will get as many opinions as the experts you ask. At least presently in India, there are hardly any opportunities for placements in core areas. As per one report, majority of students use the graduation to pursue MBA or PG. Very few get placed. However it is expected that in the years to come it is expected that opportunities are bound to increase. Best wishes to you.
