In India, several technological universities including the IITs offer courses in aeronautical engineering, both at undergraduate and post-graduate level. The basic eligibility criteria for BE / B.Tech programme is 10+2 Science (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) with a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate. One must pass the qualifying exam i.e. IIT-JEE for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) or the SRMJEE to apply to the aerospace engineering programme they have. Hello Krishna,
It's really good to know your dream of becoming an engineer from IIT. Nothing to worry. Diploma holders are considered as equivalent to 12th. I hope you have scored 75% here, as it's minimum required. Now you appear for JEE Mains and then JEE Advanced. Score good marks and admission is yours.

Dear Veersha,
In India, studying aerospace engineering is really a chance matter. Because Indian aerospace industry is not as developed as of western countries. But don't worry, if you are getting a seat in IIT- Bombay, Madras or Kanpur, then you don't have to put your concern in placement. So, if you want to do aerospace engineering in India then you must go with above mentioned college otherwise go to USA or Japan.
Good wishes dear.

Hello Karan,
Even if you are eligible,bi will request you to pause and think. Is it really worthwhile to pursue engineering? Plenty of students leave midway since they are not able to cope up, wasting precious time. I would advise you to leave obsession of engineering and go for commerce, Humanities, fine arts or any field in which you have interest.

Hello Venkatesh,
After completing Diploma, one can get lateral admission in the 2nd year of engineering or use Diploma as equivalent to class 12th and get admission in the 1st year. Now, if the Diploma is in mechanical, then for lateral entry there will be restriction as to which branch you can get admitted. However, if you are using Diploma as equivalent to class 12th, then you can get admission in any branch of engineering.
