Aeronautical engineering will be more beneficial as it is in regular demand. Aerospace engineering has relatively less scope in India. The only agencies hiring will be ISRO and DRDO. So basically depends on what career you want.

As a rule of thumb, cost of education is approximately $30K per year. This changes from state to state and also amongst different universities. Besides, one has to spend on living expenses also.

Hindustan University would be a better option over Chandigarh university if you have already got selected for Hindustan University then you are on a good path.

Chandigarh University is adjudged as best university for aerospace in Punjab and third best private university in North India within 6 years.

To get a government job in the field of aerospace engineering, you need to take various prescribed entrance exams such as GATE which are widely accepted by PSUs and MNCs.

Chandigarh University is adjudged as the best university in north for many streams including aerospace engineering in terms of placements, academic achievements and curriculum. So, CU is better than SGI, Delhi.

The admission in MIT, Pune, depends on the entrance test conducted by the institute since it has become a deemed to be University. But of course a student needs to score minimum marks in 12th to qualify.

Hello Amrutha, ISRO needs specialists from all branches of engineering as well as from varied subjects of Science. I feel mechanical may take more precedence since a lot of research is going on for having mechanical structures of the future I. e. lightweight but strong in all endeavors of ISRO.
