GATE is the exam to be given for seeking admission for different ME courses in IISc. Of course with obtaining the tag of "institute of eminence" fron GoI recently, the research as well as PG courses may undergo a revamp in times to come.

DTE of tech education of each state has a matrix of eligibility for lateral admission on their website and I would recommend you to download it and read it carefully. Also it will tell you procedure of admission. But why Aerospace Engineering? Opportunities for placements are very low compared with EEC. I would strongly advise you to seek lateral admission in your own branch for a good career.

You can join engineering college only after appearing for CET of your state. But remember, only 45% fresh engineering graduates got placed last year. In addition after Aerospace Engineering, there is no guarantee of job. Do not mistake that you can get job in commercial airlines. For that you need to do AME.
Best wishes.
