Basic prerequisites to apply for a pilot training programme are mentioned below. Please check for your eligibility from the criteria mentioned below:
You must complete class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in maths and physics. You must be at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a Student Pilot License, 17 for a Private Pilot License, and 18 for a Commercial Pilot License. Alternatively, you could directly enrol for the Private Pilot License once you have cleared class XII and are 17 years old. This involves taking an exam conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation* consisting of theory papers on air navigation, aviation meteorology, air regulation and technical aspects. Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6. General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function. You need to complete the requisite number of hours, clear written papers and the medical examination. You need 70 percent marks to pass in each of these papers. You can keep appearing until you clear them. Note: The application form is available at all flying clubs. You can also write to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. In India, several technological universities including the IITs offer courses in aeronautical engineering, both at undergraduate and post-graduate level. The basic eligibility criteria for BE / B.Tech programme is 10+2 Science (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) with a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate. One must pass the qualifying exam i.e. IIT-JEE for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) or the SRMJEE to apply to the aerospace engineering programme they have. For M.Tech programme in aeronautical engineering, one should have completed degree in (BE/B.Tech) aeronautical engineering or any other equivalent branches of engineering. Thank you.

SASTRA University does not give admission on the basis of JEE Mains only. It also consider the board percent which should be 95 % and above or minimum 90 % and above.
And in Mains, 100 and above marks is required. They prepare their own merit list on the basis of 2 criteria:
First criteria has 70% of seats. Admissions are given by taking 25% weightage of JEE Mains and 75% of boards. Second criteria includes admission on the basis of board's marks only. But, it has only 30% of seats. So, for this criteria you should be having 95 or 95 and above marks for securing your seat, as in this criteria, competition may be very tough. SASTRA University does not give admission on the basis of JEE Mains only. It also consider the board percent which should be 95 % and above or minimum 90 % and above.
And in Mains, 100 and above marks is required. They prepare their own merit list on the basis of 2 criteria:
