You should follow the below tips in order to prepare for AFCAT exam:
1. Knowing the syllabus well is the most important thing.
2. Do not ignore any part of the syllabus as questions can come from any part of the syllabus.
3. Start practising from the last few years' AFCAT question papers, as they will give you an idea of the exam pattern.
4. Maintain the time limit while solving questions, as speed is the very foundation of the exam.
5. Prepare notes on topics that seem difficult and revise them regularly.
6. For General Awareness, it is important to follow current events and news in magazines and newspapers.
7. Read more to increase your English verbal ability and vocabulary.
8. In the exam hall, attempt the known questions first as this will boost your confidence. After completing all the known questions, try the unknown and tougher ones. The educational qualification and age criteria for CDS exam is given below-
Indian Military Academy:- You need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. Your age should be between 19 to 24 years. Air Force Academy:- You need to have a Bachelor's degree in Science with physics or mathematics or B.E. /B.Tech in engineering or technology. Your age should be between 19 to 23 years. Naval Academy:- You need to complete your graduation in engineering or technology or you can do B.Sc. Degree with physics or mathematics. Your age should be between 19 to 23 years. Officer's Training Academy:- You need to have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. Your age should be between 19 to 25 years.
