IIIT Agartala offers four-year BTech CSE course. Pursuing BTech from IIIT Agartala provides placement opportunities to the students after the completion of the degree. The placements are going on and a final-year student of BTech (CSE) branch has received the highest package of INR 1.15 crore per annum as of now. This package was offered by e-commerce giant, Amazon. As per the statement issued by the institute, the average package of IIIT Agartala for the academic year 2021-2022 recorded at INR 22 LPA.

IIIT Agartala admissions are based on entrance exam. Candidates need to start by applying for JEE Main. After appearing for the entrance exam, candidates need to participate in JoSAA/ CSAB Counselling. JoSAA releases JEE Main cutoff for IIIT Agartala BTech admission. Candidates scoring equal or above cutoff, are alloted seat. Once the shortlisted candidate has been allotted seat in the institute, they need to register and report physically at the institute. They need to register at IIIT Agartala portal and upload all the specified documents.

Candidates who want NIT Agartala admissions need to apply online. Candidates are selected through various national-level entrance tests which include IIT JAM, CCMN, JEE Main, GATE, CCMT, NIMCET, MAT, GMAT, CAT, CMAT, etc. NIT Agartala comprises 13 departments that offer more than 20 courses in different streams such as Science, IT and Software, Engineering etc. Candidates are selected through multiple national-level entrance tests for these courses.
