Anna University is one of the best colleges for engineering in India.
It is known for old and architectural infrastructure faculty with great experience and knowledge facilities provided by it like sports complex, Wi-Fi and labs are well equipped by the instruments and machines.
There are many colleges which are affiliated to Anna University.
Agriculture and irrigation engineering is one of the new courses which has been started after 2010 due to this there are not many companies which have been interested to take these engineers in the companies.
Agriculture and irrigation engineering deals with the problems of agriculture and the irrigation processes of the field and maintaining them.
Placement of the students of agriculture and irrigation engineering is one of the worst placements that can a student can have.
Placement of the students of agriculture and irrigation engineering is about 2 to 3 LPA therefore most of the students do don't take the jobs of but go for higher studies in different fields like MBA or UPSC, etc.

1. The programme offers an opportunity to students to learn how to design and supervise the construction of agricultural buildings and storage facilities. Budding engineers would learn about the designing of livestock structures, greenhouses, silos, and cold-storage facilities for the crops. They would also know how to design and evaluate equipment that would be used for the preparation of the ground for seeding, spraying and harvesting. Under the programme, they would also get to learn management and entrepreneurial skills.

Students from both the biology and maths stream are eligible to pursue BE agricultural and irrigation engineering course after successfully completing the 10+2 in science stream from a recognised college or university. The minimum marks secured in physics, chemistry and mathematics or biology stream may vary and certain institutes take into account the marks that were scored in the entrance examination by the candidates

Since a large section of the population is dependent on the agriculture and with rapid technological advancements taking place in this field, the role of agriculture and irrigation engineers has come to acquire significance. Agricultural engineers can play a pivotal role in developing and designing equipment that is not only at par with international standards but also meets domestic requirements. Today, a lot of emphases is laid on setting up one's own business and it is in this regard that an agriculture and irrigation engineer can take upon himself the role of an entrepreneur. The irrigation engineer needs to ensure that steps are being taken to protect plants from frost in cold climates. Irrigation systems are also used in dry areas as this is the only way to supply water to the crops.
