There is so many scope in Indian Agriculture
13.7 % GDP & 57% emloyment is coming from Agriculture
Agriculture is the principal source of raw material to the industries like Sugar, Paper, textile, handloom, food processing, diary, etc.
A Human being cannot live without food. We can survive without technology but can't without food so agriculture is very important for every country or society.
World population is expected to reach 10.5 billion by 2050. This increase translates into 33% more human mouths to feed and food supplies would need to increase by 60% in order to meet the food demand in 2050.

Yes, you are eligible to study B.Tech in agricultural engineering course after completion of your Diploma in agriculture course. Candidates who have completed 12th standard or 3-years Diploma course from any recognised university are eligible to pursue B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) course. You can get direct admission in second year of 4-years B.Tech course after completion of your 3-years Diploma course by appearing in lateral entry examination which is conducted by your respective state entrance examinations board.

Hi Chetan,
Lots of Government as well as Private job opportunities are present in front of Graduates. Talking about Government jobs, State Agriculture Departments recruits Graduates to fill up Officer level posts. Government Banks also recruits Graduates to fill up Officer level posts (generally dealing with Loans).
Talking about Private Sector jobs, graduates may find jobs as Managers at Plantations, as Officers at Fertilizer Manufacturing firms, Agriculture Machinery Industries, Agricultural Products Marketing firms, Food processing units etc. Average starting salary is generally between 2-4.5 Lakh Rupees per year.
