MBA and MCA courses were conducted by many institutes which required AICTE approval but the Honourable Supreme Court of India declared in a recent judgment around last week of April 2013 that the AICTE can only ACT in an advisory capacity and not a governing body which is the UGC only. The main aim after doing the course is one or more of the following :
To have a legal, legitimate, and valid degree
To join the public sector
To join private sector job
To study further in India or abroad
To be self-employed
If you are joining a UGC-approved university course, even if it is not approved by AICTE you will not suffer on any of the above accounts

Of course, you will surely get a job abroad if you study at LPU because the LPU programmes are UGC approved and are valid across the globe. As far as the AICTE approval is concerned, it is not needed. According to supreme court, AICTE approval is only needed to the institutions, not to the UGC approved universities.

Hi, AICTE as a body is responsible for accrediting all postgraduate and graduate programs, under specific categories of technology for Indian institutions. This is its major point of difference with UGC (University Grants Commission) as UGC only accredits non-technical education in India. AICTE Approved Colleges in IndiaA and M Institute of Management and Technology. A&M Gems Cambridge School. A-One Pharmacy College. Aadhi Bhagawan College of Pharmacy. Aalim Muhammed Salegh College of Engineering - AMS. AAR Mahaveer Engineering College. Aarti Institute of Professional Studies.

Hello Santosh Kumar, UGC or AICTE, both these bodies deal with universities or colleges. However polytechnic is not considered as college and hence the issue of approval by either or both of these bodies for polytechnic does not arise.
Best wishes to you.
