Applicants should have cleared BSc Nursing/Post Basic Nursing from a recognised Institution accredited by Indian Nursing Council (INC) and AIIMS. Applicants must have scored at least 55 per cent in aggregate. The applicants should possess a minimum of one year of work experience as on the last date of application form submission with specialisation in bedside nursing in a hospital having a minimum of 100 bedded hospital (for private hospitals only) or Public Health Nursing or in Nursing Educational Institutions recognised by Indian Nursing Council (INC). The applicant must be a registered nurse and registered midwife (RNRM).

The lower the age limit to apply for the AIIMS BSc nursing exam is mentioned below: Interested candidate who has attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st of December of the yearof admission (2025). [Candidate born on or after 2nd January, 2009 is NOT eligible to apply.]

AIIMS has established a tie-breaker criteria to assess the performance of candidates scoring same marks in AIIMS nursing exam. Some of the criteria are:The candidates having higher marks in Chemistry in the entrance will be given priority if the tie persistsThe candidate who has secured higher marks in Physics in the entrance will be given priority if the tie still existsAt last, priority will be given to the candidate who is senior in age

AIIMS nursing tie breaking criteria sets the rules on the basis of which marks of candidates are decided in case two candidates or more score the same marks. It is a performance evaluation criteria which sets a few candidates apart from other in order to decide the ranks.

AIIMS does not officially release any syllabus for the AIIMS for BSc (hons) nursing programme. However, taking a cue from the past question papers, candidates can prepare Class 12 Physics Chemistry and Biology topics thoroughly. They must  develop sharp acument towards current general knowledge relating to history, Current Affairs general policy & scientific research. The exam is of 2 hours duration and carry 100 marks ( CBT based).
