There are a total of 100 questions in the exam which are divided across 4 sections - English language and IQ, General knowledge of news and current affairs, Entertainment media knowledge and Brands and brand communication basic knowledge. Each section consist of 25 questions and 1 mark per question.

There is no designated exam centres for the GMCET exam. The GMCET exam is conducted in online mode and candidates can attempt the exam from the comfort of their home using their laptop or desktop. There will be a portal which will be shared with the candidates one day prior at their registered email address and mobile number. Candidates will have to login onto the portal 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam to attempt the examination. On the portal the exam questions will appear in multiple choice format and candidates will have to attempt them.

Global Media Common Entrance Test is an all South Asia entrance examination that offers admission of qualified candidates to undergraduate media courses. The colleges that come under the GMCET exam are - Sharda University, National School of Journalism, Alliance University, Auro University, Presidency University, Noida International University, LNCT University, GITAM University, Mody University, Jagran Lakecity University, Ajeenkya D.Y. Unlike other entrance examinations, there are no interviews for the Global Media Common Entrance Test  (GMCET) exam. The admisison process of the Global Media Common Entrance Test consists of registration, filling out the application form, appearing for the examination, and qualifying it. As per their result, candidates will be given an AIR ranking and as per the ranking these qualified candidates will have to appear for the document verification process and submit the fee of the college/university they have been allotted.

The GMCET application form 2024 is released in online mode and is filled via the same medium, candidates will have to pay the application fee of the GMCET application form in online mode only. In order to make the payment, they will have to use their Debit card/Credit/Net banking/UPI, etc. There are no offline means to make the application fee payment, nor there is any demand draft medium. Candidates should also refrain from any websites, or persons pertaining to being GMCET officials and asking for fee payment. They must only rely on the official website - gmcet.org and their official payment merchants to pay the application fee.

The whole process of the GMCET is completely done in online mode. Candidates must take note that right from the application process to the exam as well as the result declaration, everything will, be done online mode only. To appear for the GMCET exam, candidates will be given a time slot prior before the exam commences. They will have to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination through their laptop or desktop. The test slots for the exam day will be informed a day before the examination on the registered email and mobile number of the candidate.

Candidates can enroll themselves in undergraduate courses like BA-JMC & BJMC, BMS (Bachelor of Media Studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), BA (Media & Communication), BSc (Animation & Graphics), BSc (Media Technologies). These courses are offered through the participating universities/colleges of the GMCET exam. After completing these courses, candidates will be able to apply for various job roles like TV Correspondent, Journalist, Video Jockey (VJ), Public relations officer, Staff or Freelance Writer, News Analyst, Radio Jockey (RJ), Feature Writer, Photo Journalist, Illustrator, etc.

No, candidates are not allowed to change their programme once they get selected for it. Hence, it is advised for them to check all the details of the programme before applying for the examination. Candidates should carefully go through the modules of every course before finalizing their course. As per the official notification, the courses offered are - BA-JMC & BJMC, BMS (Bachelor of Media Studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), B.Sc (Animation & Graphics), B.Sc (Media Technologies), B.Sc (Film & Television), B.Sc (VFX Film Making) Degree Programmes.

Definitely, candidates who are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply. However, in case they qualify for the exam and are selected for the document verification they will have to present their qualification certificates to the authorities before the last date of the admission process. In case they fail to do so, their candidature will be rejected.
