With the increase in the aviation business in India, even the job opportunities for aviation related jobs will grow exponentially. One such job is that of a cabin Crew. It is a glamourous job and at the same time it is very challenging as it does not just include serving hot food to the passengers, but also handle emergency situations as per the Shops put in place by the airlines. We see only one side of the job that is performed by the cabin crew. However, the major job of these crew members is to keep aircraft and passengers always in safe mode. Even during emergencies. It needs to be noted that safety systems onboard different types of aircraft are different. These differences are not drastic but they exist all the same. Earlier airlines required candidates with Diploma but nowadays most of the airlines have their own Training facilities and therefore they conduct walk-in interviews for freshers. Requirements for applying as cabin crew
The candidate must be 12th pass. The age should be between 21 to 25 years for freshers in most of the airlines. However, 18 years is also minimum age in some Indian careers. There is no discrimination in salary packages based on gender. The salary differs only on the basis of seniority and fleet in India. On the other hand, when we look at the remuneration paid by foreign airliners are based on their reputation in the market and obviously on which country do they come from. Indian carriers are way back in pay scales when you compare it with foreign airliners. Pay for cabin crew also depends on the section of aircraft that they look after. The salary & remuneration difference for Ground staff members and cabin crew members is because if their different work domains. The ground staff is generally underpaid as compared to cabin crew members. The reason being, cabin crew members have to be more attentive and job performer than ground staff members. Although it also depends upon which airlines you are cabin crew and on which airport you are a ground staff member. Some airlines paid more, some less. A cabin crew job is not about giving and clearing trays in the cabin, at 45000 feet from ground. Here you deal with safety first, which is the utmost importance for any airline. The main purpose of cabin crew present on board is safety of passengers. The other service aspect are followed after that. . Since it requires a lot of physical and mental stability, one gives more attention towards their fitness, You have to be fit to perform your duties, every day. One has to plan it's timetable to adjust with these working hours. Plan your sleep accordingly so that you are not fatigued at the end. Gender ratio of females versus males for cabin crews is definitely different in Indian Carriers as compared with carriers from abroad. A lot depends on availability of talent pool and the socioeconomic conditions of population strata in countries. In India females are considered fit for the job to be serving to people.
