We see only one side of the job that is performed by the cabin crew. However, the major job of these crew members is to keep aircraft and passengers always in safe mode. Even during emergencies. The candidate must be 12th pass. The age should be between 21 to 25 years for freshers in most of the airlines. However, 18 years is also minimum age in some Indian careers. The candidate must be fluent in English and should have good interpretation skills. A Diploma in flight attendant / cabin crew is preferred. However, most of the airlines have their own Training programme for freshers. Hotel Management Graduates are also preferred over others. But don't worry if you aren't a hotel Management Graduate. Most of the airlines require pleasing personality, clear complexion (scars, pimples and blemishes not acceptable) and good eyesight. Candidate must possess a passport.

There is no discrimination in salary packages based on gender. The salary differs only on the basis of seniority and fleet in India. On the other hand, when we look at the remuneration paid by foreign airliners are based on their reputation in the market and obviously on which country do they come from. Indian carriers are way back in pay scales when you compare it with foreign airliners. Pay for cabin crew also depends on the section of aircraft that they look after. Those working for First Class and Business Class differ from those who operate in Economy class. British Carriers and American Carriers pay differently when you compare it with those who operate from Dubai or Saudi.

The salary & remuneration difference for Ground staff members and cabin crew members is because if their different work domains. The ground staff is generally underpaid as compared to cabin crew members. The reason being, cabin crew members have to be more attentive and job performer than ground staff members. Although it also depends upon which airlines you are cabin crew and on which airport you are a ground staff member. Some airlines paid more, some less. In India, the starting average salary for ground staff's members is around 30,000/-35,000/- whereas for cabin crew, it is 40,000/- to 50,000/-. If you increase your in-flight working hours, you may see a huge increment in your salary package. You just need to be consistent and enhance your performance. Your salary/remuneration will shoot up automatically.

. Since it requires a lot of physical and mental stability, one gives more attention towards their fitness, You have to be fit to perform your duties, every day. One has to plan it's timetable to adjust with these working hours. Plan your sleep accordingly so that you are not fatigued at the end. The job requires a lot of patience, as you deal with 160 odd passengers every day, You meet different people every day, infact you work with different team in every flight, That's something which is very much rare than other jobs. One will need sometime according to their adaption with the work culture but eventually, you will get used to it and start living it if you really want to grow with this field.

In aviation. One can always grow in this field as once you have sufficient amount of experience, you can always switch to another grade in the same field. Aviation opportunities are vast, it depends on you how fast you grow. When your 'WHY' is clear, then your 'HOW' will follow. It is as simple as that. Once you gain experience one can option for various trainer jobs, and even thinking big one can open his or her own training academy. Foreign airlines have different criteria regarding age, recently in Delta airlines a crew got retired at an age of 82. Yes, you read that correct, when you have the Ichenin and belief inside you, then it will take you furthermore in your field.

Gender ratio of females versus males for cabin crews is definitely different in Indian Carriers as compared with carriers from abroad. A lot depends on availability of talent pool and the socioeconomic conditions of population strata in countries. In India females are considered fit for the job to be serving to people. Also, a large number of young girls just out of the school are without jobs hence they queue up for any job at any pay. Hence there is large female talent pool available here. On the other hand, abroad, the availability of females for these jobs is much less since there are plenty of other jobs available to them.
