Hello Karan R Gaurav, if you are in second year of three year degree course of A.M.E. I would strongly advise you to concentrate on studies. You can perhaps think of internship during college holidays if your college can organise the same. After this course, you need clear licence exam conducted by DGCA. So you need to be thorough in studies. Best wishes to you.

Aircraft maintenance engineering is not a degree or a Diploma course, but a training programme. On completion of the training, a license is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). And it should not be considered a valid graduation degree.

Hello Ishita, the major difference is that, aircraft maintenance engineering is actually a B.Sc. Course that does not give engineering degree. This course however, imparts skills required for carrying out the maintenance of civil aircraft. Of course one needs to get licence from DGCA before this. On the other hand, aeronautical engineering is actual degree in engineering. In this, students are taught different aspects of engineering involved in a flying object. After passing, students can get job in research institutions or companies involved in making of flying machines. Best wishes to you.

Hello Arnav, I can understand the anxiety and angst that must be in your mind. But let me assure you that just the fear of something may happen while doing your CPL course is no excuse to loose best three years of your life doing A.M.E. Where as you are actually interested in becoming a pilot. On the other hand if you take a positive view of the things without any anxiety then even if something happens during your CPL training and you have to withdraw even at that time also you can seek admission for A.M.E. Course. In this way you will not lose any years and that too at this stage in your life. My sincere advice is just do not worry an
