If, as a General-EWS candidate, you were assigned to a college based only on your open rank during the two rounds of UPTU (UPCET) counselling, it's possible that your EWS certificate wasn't taken into account or that ranks under EWS were more competitive. To make sure your category benefits are applied correctly, you can ask the college or the counselling authority. Verify the document submission procedure again for any inconsistencies or delays.

Yes, you can sit for the counselling process only if you clear the compartment exam in the same year. You must clear the compartment exam and meet the minimum percentage criteria of the colleges. Candidates who have are permanent resident of UP and have cleared the JEE Main Paper 1 will be able to apply for Bachelor's of Technology admission for through the official website of Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling.
