The university offers admissions to various courses such as MA (foreign languages), BFA, MFA, MIRM, MHRM, MSc, BVoc, PGD Business Management, MCom, etc. through Departmental Tests i.e. candidates have to apply and appear for the test conducted by the concerned faculty. In some of the courses offered by the faculty members of AMU, there will be no admission test/ departmental test. The admissions for these courses will be based solely on qualifying examinations. The concerned department/faculty will share the qualifying examination and admission criteria with the applicants only.

Cracking the AMU Entrance Exam is not very difficult provided you are disciplined enough. Step1- have faith in yourself, plan out your study, mark your weaknesses, and have a leisure time as well. Step2-Read more and practice more. Reading is a must. Newspaper, Law, English and then read more. Step3 -Practice maths and reasoning. step 4- Go through past year's papers and mock tests.
