Candidate must have completed MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate which is recognized as per the provisions of the NMC Act, 2019 and the repealed Indian Medical Council Act 1956. BUMS is a 5 year full time Degree course. It is rated to the Unani medicine. It requires the NEET examinations. The Cutoff varies around 210 to 320 in the NEET. Examinations.

Admissions to the Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery BUMS programme at AMU are done on the basis of the NEET-UG. To get admission at AMU for BUMS you have to follow the given steps:
1. Pursue the 12th grade with the Biology stream.
2. Appear in the NEET UG exam and try scoring more than 500.
3. Participate in the admissions counseling at AMU for this course.
4. You need to have a score of 50% in your 12th grade to be eligible for AMU.
5. You will be allotted admission to BUMS based on your NEET UG score.

Aligarh Muslim University states that the internal candidate is:
1. Someone who has passed the qualifying examination while enrolled as a regular student at AMU no more than three (03) academic years before the date of admission.
2. Someone who completed their internship before the start date of enrollment in the Faculty of Medicine's MD MS or PG Diploma Course. Therefore, you will be eligible for internal reservation after completing the Diploma programme in regular mode. For some courses, like B.Tech, you will be admitted based on your rank in the entrance exam.

For admission in AMU as an external student, a score of at least 80% is needed; however, for admission to BA and B.Sc programmes, a score of 60% is sufficient.
