The cutoff trend for medical Courses at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for medical courses. under the General category for all India quota was 40446. In 2022, it decreased to 2737. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 119268 to 35999 for SC, 141585 to 112416 for ST and 40446 to 2151 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for medical education in India continues to grow.

The opening and closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For the General category under All India, opening rank was 1461 and closing rank was 2737. The cutoffs are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in All India Institute of Medical Sciences Patna is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam NEET. In 2021, the closing rank for medical courses. under General category for all India quota was 37730. In 2022, it decreased to 2783. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 82172 to 6406 for OBC, 120246 to 29315 for SC, 140451 to 70278 for ST, 37730 to 3981 for EWS and 482746 to 202409 for PWD. The cutoff trend for MBBS at AIIMS Hyderabad has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for MBBS under general category for all India quota was 6673. In 2023, it decreased to 2811. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 7903 to 4644 for OBC 7501 to 4472 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

There is least chance of NExT exam to be held in 2024. As per recent updates, the exam will be held in August 2025 for 2020 batch final year MBBS students. Earlier, NMC announced the national exit test will be held in 2028 for the first time for 2023-24 batch MBBS students. According to National Exit Test Regulations the exam will be held twice a year. AIIMS will be conducting exam in two steps, one theory based and another practical. MBBS students will have to qualify NExT Step 1 to appear for internship.
