The BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is the only educational and professional program of dental surgery in India. In the medical educational field, it is the second choice of the students after the MBBS course. It has also a very good job opening like that of MBBS. There are plenty of good jobs and higher study opportunities available after getting the degree in dentistry as a doctor. Especially in abroad, you will get more openings. Salary is in the range of 5-8 lacs per annum.
After completing BDS, you may find employment as:
-Consultant
-Professors
-Forensics
-Dental surgeon
-Oral pathologist

The cutoff varies every year according to the number of students applying for examination and number of seats available. It would be advisable that you get in touch with college authorities/official page directly for accurate cutoff which can help you in figuring out the appropriate college.

Yes, it is nothing that a maths student or a commerce student can only clear CAT. Candidates from pharmacy background also Clear CAT and do MBA. It has basic subjects like - General Awareness, aptitude, English, reasoning.
Prepare for CAT, subject is never a barrier.
