Andhra University Visakhapatnam has well-experienced faculty members known universally for their research contributions. There are over 350 professors, 190 associate professors and 115 assistant professors serving the university. Several organisations of international and national repute have featured the faculty members of the university. Additionally, there are over 2,500 support staff working at the university. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed some of these professors as chairman and vice chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). .

Yes, Andhra University offers UG, PG and Diploma courses in the fields of Arts, Commerce, Management, etc. Through distance learning mode. The courses are offered through the School of Distance Education. There are currently 34 study centres serving the needs of students. The primary functions of the Study Centers include the selling of applications, the distribution of knowledge, in-person interactions, the administration of exams, etc.

The study schedule at Andhra University is quite flexible. The classes might not take place very often. So, students may need to put their hopes on self-studies. Other than studies, students get a lot of free time everyday and vacations as well. It depends on the students whether they put their additional time to good use for better outputs in the future or not. There is a spacious library and resource centre for the students to spend their time when required for study purposes. The grounds are huge, probably the biggest public grounds in Visakhapatnam. Andhra University doesn't release cutoff for B.Tech courses such as B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship Building and B.Tech in Biotechnology. Candidates must qualify for Andhra Pradesh EAMCET/ Andhra Pradesh ECET for admission to the B.Tech course. To get a seat in Andhra University's other UG courses, candidates must get an overall state-wise rank of below 300 INI CET closing ranks. Some of the affiliated colleges of Andhra University accept JEE Main score for admission to Engineering programmes.

However, according to Andhra University Engineering and Overall NIRF Reports 2023, the placement rate recorded at the AU College of Engineering and Engineering College for Women was 95% and 100%, respectively. Apart from this, the highest package offered at Andhra University was between INR 13.5 LPA and INR 15 LPA. The median package offered during Andhra University B.Tech and M.Tech placements 2022 stood at INR 6.6 LPA and INR 6.5 LPA, respectively.
