APSET 2018 Eligibility:
Candidates should have secured minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Masters degree or equivalent exam from any university/college that is recognised by UGC. Aspirants belonging to reserved categories such as OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD are eligible to apply if they have secured minimum 50% aggregate in their Masters degree or equivalent exam. Aspirants who are appearing for their Masters degree final year exam and whose exam result is awaited can also apply for APSET exam. But such aspirants will be offered provisional admission and they need to submit their exam result details at the time of admission. Candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Masters level examination by September 19, 1991 (irrespective of date when result is declared) will be eligible for 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (that is, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in APSET exam. The official website informs that, Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates, whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects may appear in a related subject. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree or equivalent examinations from universities/ institutions recognised by UGC are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/ SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Masters degree or equivalent exam are eligible for this Test
Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Masters degree (final year) exam and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying exams have been delayed may also apply for this test
However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Masters Degree Exam or; equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC (Non- creamy layer)/SC/ST/PWD (persons with disability) category candidates. Such candidates must complete their P. G degree exam within one year from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified
The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Masters Level Exam had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (I. e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET
Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates, whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects, may appear in a related subject
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.
