In architecture, you need more creativity then civil. But for today concern or if you were thinking about government jobs, I think civil branch is a better option. Civil branch can provide you with a platform to go with PSU sectors or with government jobs. Yes, definitely, you are eligible to get NIT on the basis of OBC NCL ranking because with CRL ranking, it may not be possible to get an NIT. You should try for MANIT Bhopal, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut, etc.
Also, you have a chance to opt for IITs also. Find the best one and go for counselling.
