(a) Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in engineering, science, or mathematics etc. An advanced degree is desirable.
(b) At least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable.

To become an astronaut in NASA after 12th, please complete your graduation first. A Bachelor's degree in Physics is recommended. Since NASA recruits only a handful of applicants from an entire pool of applicants from diverse backgrounds you have to be a highly academic and research oriented candidate. Please check the NASA website for the Astronaut

It's really great know your dream of becoming an astronaut. But some dreams remain dream. Even in USA, after a gap of many years few citizens were selected to be trained as astronaut. So, you have to think of some other strategy.

Formal path for becoming a scientist needs a Masters followed by a Ph.D. degree. After your Bachelors , try to join a research based Masters in good universities like IIT, IISc, Hyderabad Central University, TIFR, etc. These universities also offer a joint M.Sc/Ph.D programmes so that you can save one year time.

To become astronaut there are different yardsticks. It actually depends on requirement. Recently, NASA selected some persons to make them astronauts. They are from quite diverse background.
