1- Age criteria for Scientist/Engineer 'SC' post:
The maximum age for the general category candidates should not exceed 35 years as of October 14, 2023. But, for the OBC category candidates are 38 Years and for the SC, ST candidates are 40 years.

If you are interested in space Science. To become a scientist, the best option is to go for aerospace engineering as the first choice of graduation course. Moreover, you can do Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Geophysics, etc. After all not all scientists observe space, some work on building up and controlling rockets and rovers too. It all depends on how many vacancies are available in the Indian Space Research Organisation. Usually, the Indian Space Research Organisation exam is held every year in form of the ISRO Centralized Recruitment Board (ICRB). If there are more requirements for engineers, sometimes it may happen 2 to 3 times a year. There is a requirement for each center, so sometimes center-wise vacancy is also available. BITS Pilani does not provide 10+2 degree programs like Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science (Hons), Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts ( Hons), etc. It offers courses such as Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons), Masters of Science, and M.Sc. That's not how it works. In IISER Pune and IISc, you can't choose your subject before admission. After two years in IISER Pune and three semesters in IISc, you can select your major subjects. Then you'll have to study the courses specified by the respective department; you can choose astrophysics if you have a course. Also, you can do your thesis in astrophysics if you want.
