It depends on the branch you want to join. For branches like CSE, Mechanical, ECE, and Civil, you need to get at least 1000 to 1500 rank if you are from open category. There are other small branches like Metallurgy, Marine, and Civil Environmental. To get a seat in these small branches, you need not have a good rank like 1000 to 1500. Ranks from 4000 to 5000 (open category) are enough.

If you want to do your graduation from AU campus meritoriously, you have to get your rank below 2000. Your rank is very good for getting any branch in AU. You can take CSE or ECE whichever you want. But I would suggest you take admission in CSE as it has a lot of scope in future.
