It depends on the institute actually. Basic eligibility although is 10+2, but there might be some age bar that you check individually from the colleges.

Indian Board of Alternative Medicines, duly Registered by the Government of West Bengal under Act XXVI based on the Central Government Act XXI of 1860.
So it is not illegal for you to practice in Alternative medicine if you earned a degree and license for it.

For every Ayurvedic student, the best MD course would be different as per their liking of the specific field. Students usually prefer clinical subjects because you can practice in Ayurvedic hospitals as an edge over non-clinical subjects. But if you really do like a specific non-clinical subject and are willing to work hard for that you can become very successful in that field too. One can pursue MD in the following subjects:

-Should have Passed MBBS from any Medical college, which is recognized by the medical council of India.
-He/She should have completed 1 year of compulsory rotating internship on or before 30th April.

Basic eligibility for candidate who wants to pursue MD in Forensic Science is that the individual should have completed MBBS with a 1-year internship, along with a permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council. So, you might not be eligible to pursue an MD in Forensic Science after B.A. M. S. However, many institutes offering this course admit students based on their performance in a relevant entrance test. The candidate having the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree is eligible to be called as a doctor and eligible to do the private practice. Job opportunities also exists in government sector. One can get a job in government Ayurveda hospital as an ayurvedic pharmacist. After the completion of this course, candidates also have opportunity to open their own retail shop of Ayurveda medicines. Teaching field is also open for BAMS graduates.
