The minimum time required for atleast a diploma would be 1 year however if you wish to go for a PG diploma or MBA the 2 years would be required.

You can opt for post graduation course like M.com , MA(in any stream), CS(Company secretary), certification course in stocks,finance, IT, Retail banking, MBA, LLB, CA, ICWAI etc. This will suffice.Good wishes.

Hardik, it is not always that the students who have done BCA/ B.Sc CS/ B.Sc IT only they go for MCA. Even other graduates opt for MCA because of the good career opportunities that are available after completing MCA. So, the syllable starts from the grass-root level keeping in mind all the students.
Now, some institutions offer admission in MCA on basis of entrance tests, some give direct admission on basis of marks in previous qualification.
Most universities, especially the private ones, offer good placements and placement assistance to students. Some even offer scholarships to students.
