B.Des Scope

BDes is a four-year bachelor's programme offered by NIFT Srinagar, which gives students excellent job prospects. Among the top job profiles in BDes programme are those of Creative Director, Art Director, Graphic Design Manager, User Experience Designer, and Video Game Designer. Employers of BDes graduates from NIFT Srinagar include e-commerce, insurance, travel, education, retail, and gaming. Unlike other arts and sciences degrees that offer design as a specialisation, BDes is a technical degree in design. A designer often makes an average package of around INR 5 LPA. The highest pay package provided during the NIFT Srinagar placement drive is approximately INR 8 LPA.

There are numerous career options, including design director, fashion director, design manager, textile and surface developer, fashion designer, quality controller for fabric and apparel, director of art and sets, jewellery designer, graphic designer, fashion photographer, furniture designer, textile designer, brand manager, etc.Therefore, the career opportunities after completing BDes is very promising and candidates can either start their own ventures or work in various technical or managerial positions across companies. Students can find jobs in several big companies in the field of design or even pursue higher education by taking admission to design courses like Master of Arts in Fashion Design,  Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fashion Design,  Master of Design (MDes), MPhil or Phd.
