Indian nationals who belong to the General and General EWS categories need to be born on or after 1 July 2003 to apply for NID that 2024. In the case of candidates belonging to the OBC-NCL, SC, and ST categories, candidates born on or after 1 July 2000 may apply. It is unlikely that you will be able to change your seat allocation preference in NIFT B. Des after the deadline as for locking your choice has passed. Once you have submitted your preference and locked it within the specified time frame, the allocation process begins based on your choice. In case of any technical issues or mistakes made by the candidate during the choice filling process, the conducting body might provide an opportunity to modify the choices. It is always recommended to contact the concerned authority or the admission cell of NIFT for any queries or assistance related to admission process.

The candidate needs to be born on or after July 1, 2004 for admission to the B. Des programme through NID DAT 2025 entrance exam. Note that relaxation of 3-years applies to candidates from following categories - Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST). Meanwhile, for candidates belong to the PwD category, the relaxation in the upper age limit is 5 years. The candidate before filling out the NID application form need to ensure that they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Note that if the candidate is found to be faking their age, he or she may be disqualified.

To be considered for admission to the BDes programme, the candidate needs to have or appear in the Class 12 exam. Candidates from any stream can apply, including Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities etc. For the General and General EWS categories, only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2003 are eligible to apply for admission. Note that for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories, there is a relaxation of 3 years. Meanwhile, PwD candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.

Yes, the National Institute of Design has reserved seats for OBC, SC, ST, PwD and EWS categories. For the OBC-NCL category, the combined intake capacity is 114 seats. Candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL category need to select their admission category at the time of filling out the NID that application form. Note that only genuine candidate needs to apply under the category, because every information furnished by the candidate will be checked at the time of NID counseling.
