There are five participating institutes of NID DAT exam that offer the B.Des program.These include: NID Ahmedabad NID Andhra Pradesh NID Haryana NID Madhya Pradesh NID Assam.The seat intake for the B. Des stands at 425. Among the participating institutes, NID Ahmedabad has an intake of 125 seats, while the rest of the NIDs each has an intake of 75 seats. Note that seats are reserved for categories like General-EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories.Admission to these seats will be on the basis of NID DAT scores.Note that the next edition of the NID DAT exam, or NID DAT 2025, will be conducted tentatively in December 2024.The application form is expected to commence in September 2024.

There are currently 425 seats available for the B. Des programme. Candidates who qualify in NID DAT 2023 exam need will have to participate in NID that 2023 counseling process. As part of the counseling process, B. Des applicants need to select their preferred choice of campuses. The allotment of seats will be based on the NID DAT 2023 merit rank of the candidate and choices opted at the time of counseling.

There are several colleges in India that offer admission to B. Des in Interior Designing without any entrance exam. However, the admission process varies from college to college. Some colleges may admit students based on their performance in the qualifying examination (such as 10+2 or equivalent), while others may conduct a Personal Interview or portfolio review to evaluate the candidate's skills and aptitude for the programme. The NIFT Mumbai campus offers the B.Des. in Fashion Design program, which is a four-year undergraduate program in the field of fashion design. The admission to the program is based on the candidate's performance in the NIFT Entrance Exam followed by a personal interview and a portfolio review.

NIFT Gandhinagar offers admissions for NRI/Foreign National/SAARC applicants under the NRI Quota for the B. Des. In Fashion Designing programme. The NRI Quota seats are reserved for students who belong to NRI, Foreign National or SAARC category. The admission process for NRI Quota seats is similar to the regular admission process for the B. Des. Programme at NIFT Gandhinagar. The eligibility criteria and selection process are the same as for regular candidates. The candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria and appear for the entrance exam. To apply under NRI Quota, the candidates must have valid NRI/Foreign National/SAARC status, and fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board
- Should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination
- Should have qualified the NIFT Entrance Exam

The recheck window for DAT Mains results will be open soon from May 21 (4 pm) to May 22 (4 pm), 2024. Note that the results of DAT Mains will be announced on May 21, 2024. Candidates who have any objections against the DAT Mains results can submit request requests through the admission portal of NID - admissions.nid.edu. To submit their requests, the candidate will have to log-in to the portal using their candidate log-in credentials. The admission committed will go through the feedback given by candidates and may make adjustments to the rankings for affected candidates. Note that admission to the B. Des course at NID will be as per the modified merit lists.
