Tamil Nadu Open University conducts an entrance exam to select candidates for B.Ed Special education programme. Once the results are out, aspirants are selected based on their score in the entrance exam. Shortlisted candidates need to participate in the admission counselling. The university then offers seats to the selected candidates. Further, candidates seeking admission for B.Ed course are selected based on their merit in the last qualifying exam.

Aspirants need to appear for a university-level entrance exam to get admission to the university. TNOU is expected to held the B.Ed Special education entrance during the last week of January 2025. The course duration for both programmes is two years. Candiadtes must have passed bachelor's or master's degree in relevant subjects with at least 50% aggregate to be eligible for admission. IGNOU offers a two year B.Ed course and it's  admission is based on the IGNOU B.Ed entrance test conducted by the University. There is no age limit for pursuing a B.Ed course from IGNOU. Candidates of any age can apply for the IGNOU B.Ed course.
