There are a few colleges in Ernakulam that teach B.Lib courses. Some of the institutes are St. Peter's College, Kolenchery, which provides a 3-year B.Lib.I.Sc. course focusing on library management and information science.  You can certainly take admission in BLIS course at IGNOU which is just one year course and is equivalent to graduation in library and information sciences. After the completion of BLIS you can go for MLIS which is again just a one year course and is equivalent to Masters degree (Post Graduation) in library and information sciences.

It is one of the cheaper options for students. Kalinga University also offers B.Lib.I.Sc. but information on the specific fee cannot be found. Both have well-known courses in library and information science, and students here will be able to gain expertise for professing in careers in library management and the information services.
