Admissioon to B.Tech Biotechnology is based on marks in 10+2:
Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM/PCB.
(i) Passed in higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern) or appearing in higher secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology as major subjects in the regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS
(ii) International Baccalaureate (IB) A-level with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology as major subjects in any International schools within India

B.Sc is the best path if your aim is to make your career in the research or academic field because the course is more focused on pure Biology plus (B.Sc+M.Sc takes 5 years) so in the 6th year, you can join Ph.D. B.Tech is best option if your aim is to get an industrial job because when you go to aqn engineering college most probably the only department with biology involved will be biotech in the entire college and engineering is a mix of different courses, the initial year you will learn (Mech - ECE -Civil, etc.). After B.Sc., you will have to apply for jobs at government organisations or private companies. If you do you UG from a good college then chances are that you will be placed easily. Otherwise, the best option is to sit for the JRF exam and pursue M.Sc. You will receive monthly grants from the government while doing your PG and after completing, you can be appointed to work as a junior researcher.

Basically, the course is Life Sciences in Presidency University. It is better to study Life Sciences in Bachelors because you will have broader aspect of life science to study. You can go to IIT and NITs for Biotechnology after B.Sc. Lots of students from the Presidency University life sciences department crack those entrance exams.
