No, pursuing an MD directly after completing a BSc in Cardiology without an MBBS or an equivalent medical degree is not a typical pathway in most countries' medical education systems.MD programs usually require the completion of a medical degree as a prerequisite. Medical schools typically admit students with an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification for MD programs, as MD programs are advanced medical degrees that build upon the foundational knowledge and clinical training acquired during undergraduate medical education.

No, a BSc in Cardiology is not equivalent to an MBBS. These degrees represent different educational pathways and levels of qualification within the field of healthcare. While both BSc in Cardiology and MBBS degrees are within the field of healthcare, they cater to different career paths and levels of medical training. Becoming a cardiac surgeon requires a lot more effort in comparison with a BSc in cardiology. In India to become a cardiac surgeon generally needs to complete an MBBS in Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery followed by a postgraduate degree like master of Surgery or master of charge in cardiothoracic surgery. A B.Sc in cardiology can be a good starting point but it is important to pursue further medical education and training to become a qualified cardiac surgeon. After completing your MBBS you have to clear the NEET PG exam to secure a seat in the postgraduate program.
