In Diploma in Nautical Science, the students have to undergo a one-year pre-sea course in any of the DG approved institutes like IMI. Afterwards, they approach the shipping companies and if fortunate then they get selected for the campus recruitment interview. They need to complete a sailing of minimum 18 months on an above 500 GRT vessel and thereafter approach for written and oral exams for second officer or mate. The B.Sc. Nautical Science students undergo 3 years course in a DG approved institute and need to complete 12 months minimum sailing in an above 500 GRT vessel. Thereafter, they have to appear for written and oral exams

Well it's hard to say because the eligibility criteria to enroll for the course is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent (PCM-60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.)
Regards.
