After pursuing a Master's degree in social work, one can apply for jobs in various fields. The job opportunities are always high in the medical field. MSW pass outs with specialization in the medical field can work in hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centres.
Substance abuse is another area where social workers are high in demand. MSW graduates can work in substance abuse areas like rehabilitation centres, prisons, private practices, and for non-profit organizations. Social work graduates help in the treatment and rehabilitation of people addicted to drugs and other negative emotions like anger and mood swings.
A Master's degree is not required in all areas of social work but mental health is a field which requires a Master's degree with the specialization in mental health. One can work in community health centres, mental hospitals, schools and charitable trusts for mental health.
MSW holders can also work for child welfare organizations where they can serve the children who are neglected by parents or children from low-income families.
Another area where social workers can find jobs is social school work. This is one of the most common areas of social work. MSW graduate can work as a counsellor and offer guidance to students and address their issues such as behavioural programs, sexual education, health education, truancy prevention programs, crisis intervention and communication between teachers, parents and students.

Some of the well known PG courses available in India are-
M.Sc in clinical nutrition, M.Sc in food science, M.Sc in public health nutrition, M.Sc in food, nutrition and dietetics, PG Diploma in therapeutic nutrition, PG Diploma in sports science and nutrition, PG Diploma in food science and nutrition.
Course duration: M.Sc course lasts for a period of 2 years. PG Diploma course lasts for a period of 1 year.
Eligibility criteria: Must possess relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognized university/institute. The minimum aggregate required could be around 50-55% (or equivalent grade).
Further studies: After Master's degree or PG Diploma course, you may go for further advanced (relevant) programs like M.Phil. and Ph.D.
Career prospects and job opportunities:
Diverse job opportunities exist in front of nutritionists and dieticians in India. Both government and private sector job opportunities are available in front of them.
Nutritionists or dietitians may build a career in the following sectors- R&D (Research and Development), Healthcare sector (hospitals, clinics, health centres etc), Government schemes and organizations, NGOs, Teaching and Education sector.
To build a career in the R&D sector, qualifications like M.Phil. and Ph.D will be of use. M.Sc, M.Phil and Ph.D qualifications will also enable one to take up the job post of a lecturer or instructor.

1) To be a food inspector, you need to pass All India Food Inspector Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment in various offices all over the country.
2) Eligibility Criteria for the All India Food Inspector Exam :
** The candidate should be a graduate in medicine and should have undergone training in food Inspection.
OR
** The candidate should have completed Bachelor's degree in any of the science subjects. They must have studied Chemistry as a subject in their qualifying course.
OR
** Graduates in Agriculture/Pharmacy/Food Technology/ Dairy Technology are also eligible to apply for this test.
** Final year students can also apply for this exam.
** The candidates who have a degree from certified universities only are eligible for this exam.
** The candidate must be an Indian citizen
** Age limit for General category is 21 to 30 yrs. 3 yr and 5 yr relaxations are applicable for OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively.
