Hi,Yes, you can surely take B.Tech Biotechnology, because it needs a pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology or equivalent, subject to qualifying JEE Mains or any entrance exam a college conducts. The MAKAUT is an institute of repute. You can also try for NITMAS which offers good faculty. You have talked about the average fee structure for your course. Yes, I agree that financial status should not be a hindrance to higher education. The universities are offering high scales of scholarships to make education easily available for students. Like LPU gives big scholarships on various categories. I want to tell you that, explore the whole arena of education for academic excellence and financial matters are taken up by universities which offer not only scholarships but also financial assistance by helping you get a loan approved. So check an institution like SRM, LPU etc. Giving you the best academics. Thanks.

BFIT does have B.Sc in Biotechnology and It is a 3 years long graduation course which has 6 semesters. It is affiliated to HNBGU which is a well-known university which affiliates many other colleges. I am going to say this college is not a college its a whole new world, it's not just studying it is about how you tackle the world, how you SEE the world, this college is the key for your future just like I have unlocked my future you should also do that. The faculty of my college is one of the best faculty members I have ever been taught by cause the most important fact is they are pretty knowledgeable and they ask the students to understand and slowly make them understand that their knowledge is valuable and every student should learn each fact and theory. Within class itself, teacher commences us to take part in activities, that are related to our course. Each and every teacher I shall repeat, with a theory they teach us with activities which add as a breather during lectures plus you, understand it well.
A BSc degree focuses more on the biological sciences aspect of Biotechnology. The main emphasis will be on R&D in biological sciences fields such as Biochemistry, Plant and Animal Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Microbial Genetics, to name a few. I believe B.Sc is better, you can later pursue your PhD if interested.
