Marks is not the only criteria to get good package, sound technical knowledge is equally important, so focus on both to get good starting salary. The package also depends on the college and the type of companies visiting the campus so the highest package an range from anywhere between 6 to 8 lakhs

It does not matter from whether you do B.Tech CSE from Government or Private universities. Brand image of college, placement record faculties and facilities etc matter more then type of Institute. BITS Pilani is private university but it can compete with any of IIT. You must look at ranking of college at https://shiksha.com engineering link to decide about indtitute to take admission for B.Tech CSE.

B.Tech CSE syllabus has more emphasis on Computational Science theory and systems engineering, Whereas B.Tech IT syllabus has more emphasis on Application Programming. B.Tech CSE is the most preferred branch of students. CSE gets the best talent at entrance level. Indian IT industry prefers CSE over IT graduates.

B.Tech in CSE will have same scope and even more scope after 4-5 years as per the technology innovations are going on. So this branch is actually an evergreen branch and scope for this will never be less.
