Hello Shilpi,
You can get Admission in B.Tech Food Technology on the basis of your Score of Engineering Entrance Exams mostly JEE (Joint Entrance Exam ) and 12th Percentage. Eligibility Criteria to take Admission in B.Tech is that the candidate should have successfully completed the 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 50% marks is eligible. All three are different fields from one another. One can make a better career with his hard work and interest in the subject. Don't decide on the basis of good career but decide on the basis of inclination towards the subjects. BE food technology is available in department of chemical engineering, Panjab University. Admission is based purely on your JEE Mains score and ranking. You'll have to apply as per the notifications issued. Then merit lists will be prepared for various courses available by JAC (joint admission committee) including food technology. You can check PU, Chandigarh or JAC site for previous year cutoffs. Hope it helped.

B.Sc in Food Processing, Food Storage, Preservation and Food Tech
B.Tech in Food Technology/ Food Science
The Indian Food Industry is currently valued at USD $39.71 billion, and the value is likely to reach USD $65.4 billion by 2018 (Govt. of India and IBEF).
According to DIPP, the Indian Food Processing sector has received around USD $6.7 billion as FDI between April 2000 and December 2015. The investments are poised to reach the value of USD $33 million in the next 10 years.

B.Tech. Food Technology or Bachelor of Technology in Food Technology is an undergraduate course which deals in food engineering and food sciences.
