Hi, hope you're doing good.You can easily get admission to BTech Mechatronics Engineering after the successful completion of Class 12 in PCMB subjects with a score of 55 percent marks. Some institutions may have higher eligibility requirements like 60% marks in Class 12.You should surely visit the website of the college or university you're targeting to check their specific criteria, if any, to avoid any confusion or problems at the time of admission. The last year's 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Mechatronics Engineering at IIIT Bhagalpur - Indian Institute of Information Technology other than the General category are -  82739 for OBC, 194161 for SC, 407990 for ST, 70166 for EWS, and 2328 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on the All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Yes, Mumbai University indeed allows admission for Diploma holders directly into 2nd year of engineering. This is called as lateral mode of admission. The whole process is controlled by Directorate of technical education of the state of Maharashtra and the process is centralized and very transparent.

If you pursue mechatronics, you can apply in mechanical as well as electrical engineering for higher studies and for a job too. But there is not any separate exam for mechatronics engineering to get a job such as GATE. Some of PSUs conduct its own exam for recruitment.
