Yes you can, if you are confident to crack IIT-JEE with a good rank. Investing 1-year for B.Tech will be more fruitful if you get into top IITs or NITs or IIITs. You must be sure about your preparation for coming months so that you give your best shot and secure a good rank.

Both B.Tech and BE have equal scopes, it's just that some universities offer BE degree while some offer B.Tech. Check for the college and if it is good then go for it.

B.Tech IT graduates from good engineering colleges can easy get entry level job of developer and tester in IT companies during campus placement. If you do not get a job in campus placements, you can do certifications like DBA, CCNA etc. to enhance your employability. You may also evaluate doing Data Analytics, Clould Computing, BigData etc. You may also consider pursuing testing courses. You can also do IIBA certification to become a BA. If you are technically oriented and want to specialize, you can do M.Tech else MBA.

Yes, PGDM is good after pursuing B.Tech in mechanical engineering. You can go for PGDM in TQM, quality assurance, operations management, production management, etc. But, if you gain work experience and then join PGDM, it will give you more benefits in terms of salary and growth. You can also prepare for CAT and if you get a chance to get admission in reputed B-School then it's better to pursue PGDM.
