The Prelim is a sort of filter to weed out dull and non-serious candidates. It does not differentiate among the various disciplines. The Main exam is having 9 papers - II to V are common to all the candidates. Papers VI to IX are based on your options of specialisation. Options are:

Dear Jasim,
There is no need to do course to get in Aerospace companies. Avionics means the electronics used in space flights, which you have already done in B.Tech. Now either you can do M.Tech in Avionics or you can go for MBA in Aerospace and Aviation Management or you just simply apply in Aerospace company and demonstrate your skills to be Avionics engineer. There are many mechanical, Electronics, and CS engineers who are working in the avionics division.

Admission procedure & requirement: You have to give GATE or GRE (in some cases). For the cut-offs, you can check the colleges' websites. And if selected on the basis of GATE score, then they'll conduct an interview or a written test. The interviews are quite tough. Usually, the intake is very low. One of my friends got selected at IISc, Bangalore in Mechanical Engineering department. He said only 3 students were selected for M.Sc program. The situation is a bit better at IIT Chennai. If you are interested to study more in this field then you can go for higher studies. You have the option to purse M.Tech after B.Tech. Master of Technology (M.Tech) is the advancement in this field through which you are particularly specialised in one area. Some candidates also choose MBA after B.Tech. One can also opt teaching field and become professor after M.Tech.
Candidates can also pursue higher studies along with job. They can pursue courses in distance mode as many universities in India offers distance education. It will not add value to your academic qualification but also helps you to secure good position in an organisation.

If we talk about B.Tech then it is fine to do from private university but renowned, M.Tech from IITs need certain criteria for that, you have to prepare well during graduation. For B.Tech you can try for SRM University, Lovely Professional University and Amity University as you need to groom your skills much so that you do not face concern after M.Tech.
