You should take CAT exam for being eligible, but you may also appear for other entrances like XAT or NMAT for practice.

I completely agree with Akshay Bajaj's answer. VLSI stream has great scope and the Industry needs resources in huge numbers. India is a highly attractive destination for global R&D centers owing to the availability of talent, as well as lower cost, compared with the US and Western Europe. But, matching the industry expectation basis the degree curriculum is slight difficult. You need to look around and discover the latest skills being used in VLSI Industry. There is a scheme called Officer Entry 10+2 (B.Tech) in which if selected you will join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala for a four year degree course under the 10+2 (B Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme. Yes, it is equally important to cross 60% in 10th and 12th as the minimum requirements for placement in also needed. Rest your semester marks also matter for the placement and rest your knowledge leads to the best placement.
