For a good career in management (PhD) I would like to suggest you to go for Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at the reputed Indian Institute of Management (IIMs), XLRI, MDI, IRMA and similar institutes.

In general, once you complete 10th you can opt for polytechnic. Coming to your query you will lose an extra year in your academic journey. But of course it will be easy for you in your engineering to understand the subject. Having said that, of course you should join in a good college/institute.
