Yes, Vel Tech is a good college for BTech as it has been recognised as an 'A' Grade institution by the NAAC. It is also accredited by the NBA and recognised by the AICTE. The college offers various courses with diverse specialisations at UG, PG and PhD level. The duration of the BTech programme is four years and that of the rest of the UG courses is three years. The new year cutoff for B.Tech in Civil Engineering for Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is not mentioned but the admission criteria for getting into B.Tech programs entail the 10+2 or equivalent science qualification passed with minimum 50%, from any recognized university/boarding. For the general category the merit percentile was 476, for the round 2 it was 583 and 1354 for round 3 for other categories.
